Matthew Esopenko
Maintenance Hangar Supervisor, Flair Airlines
Matthew Esopenko’s aviation journey took off in 2008 when he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force as an Avionics Technician. After training, he served at the 417 Search and Rescue Squadron in C.F.B Cold Lake Alberta for five years. Transitioning to civilian life, he worked on helicopters in British Columbia before a call from WestJet led him to Calgary, where he spent six years. He then played a pivotal role in establishing an avionics department for the CL 215 to CL 215 T water bomber conversion program at Longview Aviation. Returning to airlines, he joined the startup ULCC Flair Airlines as an AME, now holding the role of Maintenance Hangar Supervisor.

Michel Treskin brings to the table over 48 years of remarkable experience, along with an impressive log of more than 20,000 total flight hours, spanning both fixed-wing and rotary aircraft, solidifying his position as an esteemed Aviation Specialist. His skills extend to the realm of Accident Investigation, adding depth to his expertise. Over the past quarter-century, Michel has taken on the role of conducting interviews and selecting over 20,000 pilots, showcasing his discernment in pilot recruitment. An accomplished public speaker, he has also co-authored the acclaimed book “The Complete Pilot Selection Handbook.
